The Wellington 12
9th May 2020; 7am to 7pm
CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
This 12 hour race allows participants the opportunity to run or walk as many 6km loops as they wish over a 12 hour period on the tarmac'd driveways encircling Stratfield Saye House. The race is in aid of a local charity called Victoria's Promise, which supports and empowers young women and their families through cancer.
This private estate is rarely accessible to the public in such a way, but thanks to the kind generosity and support of the 9th Duke of Wellington and his family, Freedom Trails has been granted permission to hold this unique event here.
The gently undulating terrain is such that people of all ages and abilities can take part, ensuring this one off event is truly accessible to all. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome and can even run along with you!
Please note that laps will not be timed - this is about the cumulative number of laps not how fast you do it. You also need not run for the full 12 hours - you can do as many hours or as few as you wish. You're in control. You are of course, welcome to time yourself and achieve your own PB!
Entry Fee & Fundraising
All entries, regardless of age, cost £50pp. This includes a charitable donation to Victoria's Promise. We strongly encourage people to seek additional sponsorship over and above this for the charity so that they can really make a difference to women and their families going through the awful challenge of dealing with caner.
If you would like your pooch to run with you (on a lead) the cost is £5 per dog (and yes even some of this money will go to the charity!).
Catering, massage, various stalls and even a beer tent thanks to the West Berkshire Brewery will be onsite on the day. Come and make a day of it!
